The Household Troops Band of the Salvation Army on their summer tour visited Maidstone today; the planned visit to Chatham Corps had to switch venues due to the refurbishment of Chatham Corps.
Maidstone were blessed to have this wonderful group of musicians with us for the day and as the sun shone in the early afternoon the band marched into town, resplendent in their distinctive uniforms, the town was packed and many people stopped to listen and share in the beautiful music, young and old alike chatted with band members and soldiers from Maidstone Corps.
{mosimage}As the sun glinted off the instruments the mood in the town can only be described as “God blessed” as for 45minutes shoppers stopped to share in the gift of music and God’s love.
93 people attended a concert at our Corps in Union Street last evening and were delighted by the beautiful music and air of joy that pervaded the building. A stand had been set up at the back of the hall to give visitors a background to the bands ministry and numerous c.d.’s of the band’s music were on sale.
We thank God for the wonderful gift of people and music bestowed on our town this day and wish all the members of the Household Troop Band His continued blessings on the remainder of their tour and their future minstry.
