Combined Bands - March of Witness and Open Air PDF Print E-mail

March of Witness and open air service

Following a lively service at the Corps Sunday morning (that saw the hall packed) with many members of the William Booth Memorial Halls Band (Nottingham) adding personal testimony with beautiful music to deliver God’s message a wonderful time of worship was experienced by all.

The afternoon saw Maidstone Band and William Booth Memorial Halls Band join forces and march from the Corps into the centre of town - a spectacular sight with the three flags flying in the afternoon sunshine at the head of the column of some 76 Bandsmen (and women) a section of Timbrels and other Corps folks.

The volume of sound from the band stopped people in the town who were drawn to listen and join in the 20 minute service at the junction of Week Street and Earl Street. Where a truly combined effort by both Corps saw the service delivered in voice, sign language and
solo song.

Blessed with beautiful weather and a spirit of joy the combined Corps witness was tremendous – May God be praised!

As the band formed up once more to march back through the town in the glorious sunshine they drew smiles and great comments from the many shoppers.

Once back at the Corps in Union Street there was time for a short break before the evening service of praise.

All in all a wonderful weekend of sharing with each other in word, in music and worship, thanking God for the special times and friendship that have been formed and strengthened in His love.
